Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band known for their intense, emotionally charged lyrics and powerful blend of alternative rock and post-grunge influences. Formed in 1997 in Norwood, Ontario, the band originally consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Adam Gontier, drummer Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst, with Barry Stock joining as lead guitarist in 2003. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2003, featured the hit single “I Hate Everything About You,” which resonated widely with listeners for its raw exploration of pain and conflict, helping to establish the band as a force in the rock scene. Known for addressing themes like inner turmoil, addiction, and resilience, Three Days Grace quickly gained a dedicated following.
The band continued to rise with the release of their second album, One-X (2006), which included iconic songs like “Animal I Have Become” and “Never Too Late,” further solidifying their reputation for intense, relatable music. After a series of successful albums, including Life Starts Now (2009) and Transit of Venus (2012), Gontier left the band in 2013, citing health issues. Brad Walst’s brother, Matt Walst, stepped in as lead vocalist, marking a new era for the band with albums like Human (2015) and Outsider (2018). Despite lineup changes, Three Days Grace has maintained its signature sound, focusing on themes of struggle and hope, and continues to resonate with fans worldwide as one of the defining voices in modern rock. Their unwavering commitment to honest, hard-hitting music has made them one of the most influential rock bands of the 2000s.
